Lamar Miller open to sharing the Houston backfield with Adrian Peterson

Adrian Peterson has expressed interest in joining the Houston Texans earlier this offseason, on the record saying “Obviously, being back home would be awesome,” the Texas native said “Houston has always been a team I’ve thought about.”

Now, Lamar Miller seems to have mutual feelings of a backfield involving him and the former league MVP, “I used to look up to Adrian Peterson growing up,” Miller said. “He runs the ball hard. He’s a great running back. He’s been a great running back in this league for years. It would be good to have him join us, just his leadership, seeing the things he’s done in previous years, that I feel like I could probably learn from him. It would help us out as a team.”

Lamar went on NFL Network to discuss this notion.

Miller played all 16 games last season for the Texans and carried the ball 238 times - which is 30 carries less than he had when he only played 14 games in 2017 as the Texans made an effort to lighten his workload.

In Adrian Peterson's first game with the Cardinals last season, after demanding a trade from New Orleans when he was displeased with his role in the offense, AP racked up 134 yards and 2 TDs and appeared to be back in MVP form. However, he failed to reach the end zone the rest of the season and only eclipsed the 100 yard marker in one other game, a 37 carry performance vs the 49ers.
