LSU Fined $100K for Fans Storming Field After win Over Georgia

According to Brooks Kubena of The Advocate, LSU was fined $100,000 by the Southeastern Conference after fans stormed the field following Saturday’s win at Tiger Stadium. The violation was LSU’s second since a policy was put in place by the SEC banning fans from entering the area of competition. LSU was previously fined $5,000 after fans stormed the field to celebrate a 10-7 win over Ole Miss in 2014.

The on-field celebration came in the moments after LSU crushed Georgia, 36-16, on Saturday â€” a huge step forward for the program in coach Ed Orgeron's second complete season as head coach.
